2022 Workers' Compensation Law Changes
Governor Brian Kemp has signed into law significant changes which will benefit claimants in workers’ compensation claims in Georgia. House Bill 1409, which took effect on July 1, 2022, provides for an increase in the maximum Temporary Total Disability (TTD), Temporary Partial Disability (TPD) and Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) rates. The maximum TTD and PPD rates will increase from $675.00 per week to $725.00 per week, while the maximum TPD rate will increase to $483.00 per week. Consistent with these changes, the maximum benefit payable to a surviving spouse with no other dependents increases to $290,000.00. There were no other significant changes to the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Act this year.
